BIO
Rodd Cyrus is a mixed Iranian-English-Irish-Welsh-Italian-American (yes, all of those!) actor/singer/writer who was born in Boston, Massachusetts and grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. He recently graduated from The Juilliard School with an MFA in Acting after getting his BA from UCLA. He is currently based between New York City and Los Angeles.
Rodd is currently making his Broadway debut playing Harry Houdini in Ragtime at Lincoln Center Theater directed by Lear deBessonet. He just finished shooting the upcoming Netflix film, 72 Hours, opposite Teyana Taylor, starring Kevin Hart, and directed by Tim Story.
Rodd can also be seen on TV shows such as The Equalizer (CBS), Elsbeth (CBS), Jimmy Kimmel Live! (ABC), as well as independent features, such as Doctor, Doctor (Apple TV) and multiple short films. His most recent Off-Broadway theatre credits include playing Harry Houdini in Ragtime and Giuseppe in The Light in the Piazza both at Encores! NY City Center, both of which were NY Times Critic's Picks. This past fall, he led the workshop of Shayan Lotfi's new play, Leave to Remain, directed by David Cromer at The Atlantic Theater Company. He has also developed new plays at NYTW, The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center, Roundabout Theatre Company, The Signature Theatre, Playwright's Realm, Ensemble Studio Theatre, and The McCarter Theatre. Regionally, Rodd recently played Don Juan in Valor at The Guthrie Theater and Eddie in Mamma Mia! at The Hollywood Bowl directed by Kathleen Marshall.
